Why PepCred exists
Health tests, medicines and wellness services are increasingly sold through a website before a customer knows who operates it or which laboratory performs the work. Provider claims, badges and reviews are easy to misunderstand. PepCred connects the exact website to official company, regulator and laboratory records, shows every missing link, and gives the customer one practical question to ask before paying.
One checker, with specialist evidence kept separate
The main checker follows a health service from brand to legal operator, regulated provider, performing laboratory and exact test scope. A company record never proves a laboratory route, and a laboratory credential never endorses the seller. PepCred also retains two specialist research instruments and keeps them strictly apart. Compounds get an Evidence Grade — what the published science actually shows, with human, animal and in-vitro evidence kept on separate rungs. Vendors get a Trust Readout — independent sub-scores (Verified review intelligence, Lab Reliability, Transparency and business stability) each shown with its own confidence. Reviews carry zero positive weight. A composite trust number is published only once a vendor has qualifying independent lab evidence; until then we show the underlying public-record facts and mark the rest “insufficient” rather than guess.

Standing on free, official data
PepCred stands on official sources including CMS CLIA laboratory data, CQC provider data, UKAS accreditation schedules, company registers, scientific literature, clinical-trial registries, regulator actions and domain records. Reviews and forum discussions may suggest something to investigate, but they never create a positive finding or compensate for a missing official link.

Real vendors, real records — and an honest "insufficient"
PepCred scores real, named vendors, and every vendor signal is a public, sourced fact: domain registration from ICANN RDAP, a legal entity only where there is a single confirmed active match on the UK Companies House register, and a transparency checklist scored from the vendor's own published pages with the exact quote and URL. Where we lack grounded data — we do not generate lab results, and the community-review sources currently block automated access — the page says “insufficient data” rather than inventing a figure. A signal we could not find is never recorded as a failure, and no negative is ever asserted without a source. Any vendor can contest a fact via the corrections page.
