Scores are opinion, not fact

Every score reflects aggregated public data and opinion, not verified truth about any company. A high score is not a guarantee of quality or safety; a low score is not an accusation of wrongdoing. Where we surface a negative signal, we link the source so you can judge it yourself.

“Research use only” means nothing about safety

A “research use only” label does not establish that a product is safe, legal or correctly dosed. Purity is not the same as safety, sterility or correct use. We never imply otherwise.

Real vendors, public records, and “insufficient”

PepCred scores real, named vendors using objective public records only — domain registration (ICANN RDAP), the UK Companies House register, official pharmacy and care registers, and each vendor's own published pages. Where we lack grounded data we say so rather than print a number, and a signal we could not find is never recorded as a failure. Do not rely on any figure here as your only basis for a purchasing or health decision; treat every signal as public records and opinion, not verified fact about the business.

Can you trust a seller with your money?

This is the honest version of what our score can and cannot tell you about paying. The score measures whether the accountability chain exists — it does not guarantee how any individual order goes.

A fully matched regulated route (a high score) means a real legal entity is on an official register, a regulator accepts complaints about it, and consumer law applies to your purchase. If something goes wrong you have practical recourse: the pharmacy or care regulator, your card provider's chargeback process, and in the UK, section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act on credit-card purchases over £100 and up to £30,000. That is real protection — it is also the limit of what the score says. It does not rate refund speed, customer service or clinical suitability.

A research-chemical seller sits outside that system even when our seller checks pass. There is usually no regulator for the product, companies are often young, and many take payment by bank transfer or cryptocurrency — which has no chargeback. If the order never arrives or the vial is not what the label says, there is often no practical way to get your money back. Paying such a seller is trust, not protection, and no certificate of analysis changes that.

A seller with a current regulator warning has already had official action published against it. We show the document. Do not send money while it stands.

Practical rule, whoever you buy from: pay by credit card where you can, never by bank transfer to a business you have not verified yourself, and keep the order confirmation.

We are not a party to any transaction between you and any seller, we receive no commission from any seller, and we accept no liability, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for losses arising from reliance on this site — including money paid to any seller listed here, whatever its score. Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you find an error, use the corrections process and we will fix it against the source.
